Stained Glass
Workshops
The NHS Pandemic Memorial Bridge at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley has been several years in the making, honouring those who lost their lives during the pandemic, the NHS staff who worked tirelessly under challenging conditions, putting their own lives and at risk to provide exceptional care.
The idea was conceived by Councillor Kieran Casey. You may have noticed the Rainbow structure currently being erected on the Russell's Hall site, visible from the roadside. Generous donations from local organisations and businesses have covered all expenses. The 39 glass windows are crafted by Paul Floyd of Transparent Glass and Rosa Ferris Rosewindows, both based at the Ruskin Glass Centre, while Vince Thompson Iconoclast created the metal framework.
This beautiful blend of glass and metal reflects our historic heritage! The installation will be illuminated from within, allowing it to shine brightly 24 hours a day. I feel proud to have contributed to this project, and the opening date will be announced soon!

And the Spirit of God hovered over the Waters
"And Spirit of God hovered over the waters," now framed beautifully in oak on a conservatory wall. The accompanying video offers a lively view of the glass. The exquisite mouth-blown glass is part of endangered heritage crafts. Most of the glass comes from Lamberts Glass Huete in Germany; Stourbridge-based glassblower Eliot Walker crafted the green glass in a bird-like shape. I appreciate my clients' patience during the two-year wait. The journey to achieve these windows has been incredible. Art and craftsmanship cannot be rushed; challenges often arise. The imagery is rich with symbols and meaning. I encourage you to explore how it resonates with you and what it reveals.
